Expert Background:

Professor Seamus P J Higson, PhD, AKC, C.Sci., C.Eng., FIMMM, DSc: has served as an expert witness in the US, UK and Germany working with legal firms including, Ropes and Gray, Day Jones, Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers and Squire Patton Boggs. In addition to holding a number of research, visiting and emeritus chairs at Cranfield University, Cardiff University and the University of Chichester in the UK, Professor Higson is founder and director of two successful companies, has written a number of books including the Oxford University flagship text, ‘Analytical Chemistry’, and is author of more than 130 research papers. In 2018, professor Higson was awarded a Doctor of Science (DSc) by Cranfield University in recognition to the step change his work to his inter-related fields of analytical and bio analytical science, bio-materials science, environmental monitoring and biomedical engineering.

Professor Higson’s career has largely been focused towards the development and commercialisation of a range of analytical and bio-analytical tests, assays and chemical sensor and biosensor applications for biomedical, agri-food, process control, homeland security and environmental monitoring applications.
